Little Beetle, Big Job
Scarab beetles sit on extremes. On one hand, they were sacred adornments and jewelry pieces worn by ancient Egyptians. Their jeweled shells decorated bodies of the living and the dead. On the other hand, scarabs are also known as dung beetles - as in, they roll poop around. Some people found this to be symbolic of the rising sun and other people just find it to be kind of gross. If you’re part of the group that finds scarab beetles to be shimmery, beautiful, and symbolic of the circle of life, then our necklace is for you! It also makes a great gift for entomologists, archaeologists, Egyptologists, and agriculturalists.
