This elegant haute couture cheongsam qipao is literally a walking art masterpiece with the lining depicting details from HKMoA’s priceless art painting “Bamboo In Snow” by world-revered Chinese contemporary master artist Gao Jianfu.

This leather-silk cheongsam qipao is made from pure mulberry silk, but instead of weaving the silk into fabric, engineers were able to break down the fibers from silkworm cocoons into their protein components, and re-purpose the proteins to form a leather-like material with all the properties of leather. Leather-silk has the sheen and appearance of a very thin leather, and leather-silk can withstand the fold, piercing, and stretching typically used to create leather goods.

As leather-silk is made from pure silk and the production process is non-toxic, leather-silk is a 100% sustainable and environmentally friendly material.
